Western Republic issue (1807 - 1818). Features the head of president Alexandre Petion on the obverse and the palm. flags, cannon, etc of the revolutionary era. This example is of fine style and workmanship. There are varieties with poor execution and various head sizes and lettering. Brass and silver washed brass counterfeits exist. The Revolutionary Year (AN 14) is 1817.
