Nicely preserved compared to most I've seen. Features a nice fasces which is a holdover from the revolutionary days of of slave rebellion during the French Revolution era. Struck for the Republic of 1825 - 1849. This largest of the flan types of AN43 is known with proof-like strikes and is known as the "French Strike."
