Constantine I (The Great) commemorative coin struck after his death (330 - 346 A.D.). The city of CONSTANTINOPOLIS, the legend on the obverse, was renamed after Constantine. The coin is described as the helmeted head of Constantinopolis wearing imperial mantle and holding sceptre. Reverse has no legend and Victory standing w/ left foot on a prow, holding sceptre and leaning on a shield. In exergue is TRS, indicating it was minted in Trier, Germania in 332 - 333 A.D.
