It was during the reign of Constantius as Caesar in Gaul and Britain that an official Roman mint was opened in Britain for the first time, in the provincial capital of Londinium. This coin was struck in the first years of the mint's operation, and has the distinctive London style prized by collectors. This is sharply, fully struck on a solid, heavy flan.
