Here is another coin from the Soviet era or thereafter.The Szechuan-Shensi Soviet is known for their 1 Yuan (Dollar) coins. This 2 Jiao (20 cents) follows the same pattern. The obverse side (reversed in photo) is the side with central lettering of the denomination (2 Jiao). Above is "Chinese Soviet Republic" with the mint name below. The reverse shows the typical globe & hammer/sickle design with the words "Unite, Proletariat of the World" w/date below as 'Year 1934'. This 'coin' is unknown in any catalog. I have another example in white metal with the same design (a fake). While similar to the 20 cents of the Soviet Republic the design and characters vary. The edge is not reeded. I used to consider this a fake but I'm not so sure now. I've only seen three examples, the others all appeared to have legitimate age/wear with authentic encrustation.
