Moneta Registered: August 2005 Location: Arizona USA Posts: 2,362	One specialty in the Roman coin series is "Rome and Germany", coins that usually commemorate the nearly continuous battles that Rome had with "barbarians" and the subsequent peace. Probus issued a number of these, several of which you can see here in the Moneta Coin Museum. Probus (276 - 282 A.D.); IMP C PROBUS AVG. Reverse: a large victory trophy flanked by two captives, VICTORIA GERM around with SPQR in exergue. This example retains most of the silvering. Here the photo is poor, in hand a much better coin, still XF. This was struck c. 278 AD. VM# 52/1, Sear 3275, C.766, RIC 223.
