The first coins of the Nationalist Chinese escaped to the island of Formosa or Taiwan. Shows a nice rendition of the island. This was the only circulating silver coin the Taiwanese government made. I suspect they regret using the term 'Province' when their argument is that they are separate from China and not a province of it. Previously described at 50 cents. OB: Bust of Sun Yat-sen left, date above. Lettering: 年八十三國民華中; Translation: Republic of China Year 38. RX: Map of Taiwan separating denomination.
