Here I am documenting some varieties of 20 Cent pieces. As KM states there are many varieties of the 1932/1933 silver 20 cent - not all of them silver. Wenchao (Shanghai Museum), which only covers the .800 silver issues, with 4 varieties for each year, with differences in "characters, design and edges." These were produced by the Central Mint at Yangxi in Ruijin County, Jiangxi Province and issued by the State Bank of the Chinese Soviet Republic. The obverse shows the value as "two jiao" in the center, circumscribed with "Chinese Soviet Republic" and the year 1932 or 1933 at the bottom. The reverese shows the globe & hammer/sickle design with 'double good harvest' motif; the characters mean "every 5 pieces for one yuan." Therefore it's known in the west as a 20 cent piece. They range (Ag) in weight from 5.17 to 5.32 grams.
This one is thin, reeded, and underweight by 1 gram. Lusterous UNC and RARE! More varieties exist, some off-metal types and old plated. I've seen this type slabbed and selling for high prices. Authenticity is in some question.
Here are a number of RARE articles on Communist Chinese Soviet coins & notes from the Moneta Library:
