ASW. The description says Obv. Five mountains, sun has large, full face Rev. Tree divides denomination. The date is listed as 1846/2NG AE/MA Z/S to the best of my knowledge. These pieces were struck from 1824 to 1847. The mint mark NG stands for Guatemala. This was a time of political and economic turmoil with the region between Mexico and Panama. The Standard Catalog only shows 3 pages of coins for this Republic which suggests a limited selection of coins, and where mintage is listed, the numbers are low. This image is provided courtesy of GFRC at http://www.seateddimevarieties.com/FS_Lists/Foreign.htm where it is offered. There is a dramatic contrast between obverse and reverse dies employed to strike this piece. The obverse die is completely rusted with die cracks and pitting throughout along with the 1846/2 over date resulting is frosty luster. The reverse is different with soft satiny luster that sports light gold and rose coloring under bright light. The reverse CREZCA over CRESCA lettering is bold and easily seen. It is described as an exceptional example in a new NGC AU 55 holder.
