Description: Denomination and date within German Cross. Lettering: 3, КОПѢЙКИ, 1916; [Translation: 3 Kopecks] RX: The legend "Region of the commander-in-chief - East" appears between some oak leaves. Lettering: GEBIET, DES, OBERBEFEHLSHABERS, OST, A Translation: Region of the commander-in-chief - East This coin was issued during the First World War by the German army in order to be used in Estonia, Poland and North-West Russia. These regions were, in those days, occupied by Germany. NOTE: these have been counterfeited, all have a rough edge, here the edge is very smooth. Denominations of 1 & 2 Kopecks also circulated in the eastern front. While the photo might indicated the iron has been cleaned, as so many are, the actual surface is pristine iron with a couple of (well below average) rust spots.

Description: Prussian commemorative of 100 Years since Victory over Napoleon at Leipzig. The image here is reversed, the mintage for the 2 Mark is 1.5 M, half that of the 3 Mark issue of this theme. The reverse legend "Der Konig Rief und Alle Alle Kamen" translates as: "The King Called and ALL Came." The legend in exergue is "With God / For King and Fatherland / 7 March 1813." This coin image is a duplicate of the same coin imaged years before.

Description: Wilhelm II German Kaiser (Emperor) and King of Prussia on this common 20 Mark gold piece. Compared to the previous 20 Mark he appears ready to go to war. With 20/20 hindsight and the revelation of secret documents the Germans instigated the events that ultimately lead the the "Great War" and the "War to End All Wars" - World War I. So we're also placing him in the Rogues Gallery.

Description: Unevenly toned but lustrous example. Munich mintage of 3.67 M. KM says beginning in 1918 and into 1919 some of these were issued with a black finish to discourage hoarding - I've never seen one in hand but eBay should reveal some.

Description: German Empire issue of an unusual denomination of 25 Pfennig. This issue was struck from just 1909 to 1912 under the full range of mints. This first year of issue was struck in Munich. A bold eagle dominates the obverse. The key date is 1909 J with only 10 k struck!
