Lebanon - 5 Piastres - Phoenician Galley 1925

Description: With a nice depiction of a Phoenician galley these are hard to find in top condition. This one is pretty good. There's a 1st in the series for 1925 without the privy marks on both sides of the denomination, they share the 1.5 M mintage but I'm sure the one without privy marks is scarcer. I'm sure they were struck in France, probably Paris.

Description: Early issue of 5 Piastres - slabbed. Scalloped rim design with cedar of Lebanon. A one-year type, scarce in high grade.

Description: A nice clean example with a design enhancement. This is a one year type that re-emerged in 1961 with different script style and date size on the reverse. 7.2 M minted.

Description: French Protectorate issue. I've looked for years to find a better example - Unc's must be extremely rare, so this harshly cleaned VF+/VF will have to do it for now. I just love this depiction of a Cedar of Lebanon.

Description: World War II Coinage. Aluminum variety, usually imperfectly struck with high grade, centered examples, the value increases significantly. This one is much better than most. Also, aluminum-bronze examples of this type exist and are very valuable.
